INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts made some roster moves Saturday ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Defensive end Arden Key has been placed on the injured reserve list and will miss at least the next four weeks with a hamstring injury. The Colts signed Key to a two-year, $20 million contract during free agency this past offseason. He’s started in all four games for the Colts this season, most notably forcing a fumble in Week 1’s game against Baltimore. He’s recorded eight tackles and half a sack through the first four weeks.
In a corresponding move, the Colts are elevating wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to the active roster, which will help a depleted receiver room as top target Alec Pierce continues to miss time with an ankle injury. Westbrook-Ikhine is still looking for his first catch for the Horseshoe. The former Indiana Hoosiers standout spent most of his seven-year career with the Tennessee Titans.
The Colts will also be without newly acquired receiver Darius Slayton in Pittsburgh. Slayton was officially ruled out for the game against the Steelers as he deals with a knee injury sustained in practice this week. The former New York Giant has yet to suit up for the Colts after coming to Indy three weeks ago.
