Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Saturday revealed his take that a member of his defensive ranks does not always receive the adulation he is deserving of.
Barca of course marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Getafe to the Spotify Camp Nou with sights on yet another victory amid a flawless opening to the campaign.
En route to an eventual 3-0 triumph, the Blaugrana’s attacking stars again took their place centre stage, with the likes of Anthony Gordon, Gabriel Jesus and Lamine Yamal having played leading roles.
Following the full-time whistle, though, it was one of his players at the other end of the pitch whose efforts Hansi Flick was keen to highlight…
After the versatile defender marked his 100th appearance in Barca colours with another solid performance, Flick explained to the media:
“I think Gerard Martín doesn’t get the appreciation he deserves.”
