_**Alessandro Bastoni**_ has become one of the most talked about names in the market, but _**Inter**_ are standing firm amid growing _**transfer**_ interest from **Barcelona**. According to [La Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Calciomercato/Inter/21-04-2026/bastoni-ausilio-risponde-al-barcellona-e-alza-un-muro-da-70-milioni.shtml), the Italian defender remains a key target for the Spanish club, even as the Nerazzurri make it clear they have no intention of letting him go easily.
While speculation around his future intensifies, **Bastoni** is currently focused on recovery. The defender has been training separately and is set to miss another fixture, as **Cristian Chivu** continues to manage his condition carefully. The decision to rest him was planned, allowing him time to recover fully from a lingering ankle issue and regain physical sharpness after a demanding period.
The break has also come at a time when scrutiny around the player has increased, both on and off the pitch. Between recent performances, international duty, and mounting transfer rumours, **Bastoni** has found himself at the centre of attention.

**Barcelona interest grows but Inter hold firm**
------------------------------------------------
Interest from **Barcelona** shows no sign of fading. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Catalan club view **Bastoni** as an ideal addition, particularly for his ability to play out from the back and operate as a left sided central defender.
Discussions between the player’s representatives and **Barcelona** officials have reportedly taken place, with a preliminary understanding already outlined regarding personal terms. From the player’s perspective, there is openness to the move, which could represent a significant step in his career.
However, the situation remains far from complete. The key obstacle is **Inter**’s valuation, which has been set at €70 million. That figure reflects both his importance to the team and his long term contract, placing the club in a strong negotiating position.
Speaking at the Inside The Sport 2026 event in Coverciano, sporting director **Piero Ausilio** addressed the speculation directly.
“**Bastoni** has a contract with **Inter** and up to now there is nothing that suggests his future will be away from here,” he said.
“I do not know what they are saying in Spain, but we are happy with **Alessandro**, with what he has given to this club and I am sure he will continue to give us a lot. If they are interested in him, they know which numbers to call.”
