Giants' John Harbaugh Makes Admission on NFC East Rivals Cowboys' Humiliating Loss to 0-4 Buccaneers 1

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off an embarrassing Thursday Night Football loss to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That loss by Dallas was a big plus for John Harbaugh and the New York Giants — and to the rest of the NFC East, for that matter — as the Cowboys dropped to 2-3, while New York entered Week 5 with a 3-1 record, which is still the best in the division.

The Cowboys were supposed to beat Tampa Bay, which didn’t even have its Week 1 starter, Baker Mayfield, in the game due to injury. Instead, the Bucs turned the table on Dallas and won, 24-16. Backup quarterback Jalon Daniels outplayed Dak Prescott, with the former Kansas Jayhawks signal-caller throwing for 189 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 19/25 pass completions.

As New York prepares for a Week 5 game, Harbaugh shared some of his thoughts on the Cowboys loss.

“I think you take notice. It’s talked about probably not too specifically,” Harbaugh said when asked how much focus he’s given the Cowboys’ TNF struggles and the drama going on with another NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.

“It’s more like you talk about it probably at work with your colleagues and friends and stuff. You see the game last night, you kind of keep track a little bit of the division, certainly more than the other teams that you’re playing against. I certainly know what happened in the game. I didn’t stay up for it. It was too late. I saw the highlights in the morning and guys were talking about it,” added Harbaugh, who is in his first season coaching New York.

“The Eagles and the Commanders are the ones we’re kind of focusing on this week. You spend more time on the game that you’re playing.”

As mentioned by Harbaugh, the main focus for his team is the upcoming showdown versus the Washington Commanders, who will host New York on Sunday. The Giants have already gotten the better of Dallas in Week 1, 28-20, but will face the Cowboys again in Week 17.
