Controversial sports personality Skip Bayless seemingly took the bait as fake information about the worker who clashed with Dak Prescott went viral.

On Thursday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys fell 24-16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium, prompting owner Jerry Jones to slam a table in disgust. However, one post-game moment hit headlines as Prescott got caught up in a clash with a stadium worker.

As Prescott walked toward the locker room with his Cowboys slipping to 2-3, a stadium worker yelled, “Embarrassing.” Prescott immediately responded, telling a Cowboys employee, “Tough guy. Get his a-- out of here.”

According to reports, the worker was a driver employed by a third-party contractor. But many users across the internet pretended to be the employee, claimed they were not a Cowboys fan, and feigned an apology in order to go viral.

On TikTok, one user (@languageguy1) posted a video and said: “Hey, I just wanted to come on and say sorry to all the Dallas fans, Dak Prescott, etc. I’m the employee that yelled, ‘embarrassing,’ as Dak walked by and looked at me. They let me go this morning. I am not a Cowboys fan but, you know, I’m sorry if anybody was offended, I apologize. But yeah, if anybody’s hiring, then I won’t do that again, so yeah, sorry.”

Several others posted videos with a similar message. But Bayless apparently didn’t take much time to look into it before offering his take.

“The guy who got fired for saying 'embarrassing' to Dak as he walked to the locker room says he isn't a Cowboy fan ... but he spoke for EVERY Cowboy fan,” Bayless, a notorious Cowboys fan, wrote.

Prescott, to his credit, was somewhat measured in his breakdown of the interaction with reporters. He outlined how the person wasn’t necessarily wrong in their assessment of his play and the Cowboys' loss, saying: “To use the word ‘embarrassing,’ it's tough.

“I feel like I'm discrediting the NFL if I use that, in particular, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the great Todd Bowles.”

He added: “It sucks, right up close to embarrassing, but I don't know if I would say that.”

Prescott finished 24 of 42 for 316 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss to the Bucs. Through five games, Prescott has thrown for 1,381 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 67.2 percent completion rate,

Against the Bucs, Dallas scored just 16 points - its lowest total since Week 3 in 2025 - and rushed for 50 yards. Meanwhile, the defense allowed at least 20 points for the 12th straight game, dating back to last season, marking only the sixth time in franchise history the Cowboys have lost to a team that started 0-4 or worse.

The Cowboys stay in primetime for their next two games, hosting the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Oct. 18, before facing the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 7.
