All eyes will be on Anfield today, with Liverpool’s game against Manchester City the biggest show in town after a dramatic few weeks.

City’s guilty verdict looks to have guaranteed Enzo Maresca’s side a less-than-welcoming reception later, even if Andoni Iraola has tried his best not to fan the flames too much.

The Liverpool boss will be attempting to focus on the job in hand as he looks to extend his side’s unbeaten run, and he’ll be looking to today’s game as a yardstick to gauge exactly where his team stands this season, which could well impact any transfer plans in the future.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today.

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)

Michael Olise will only consider a move to Spain if he is to leave Bayern Munich, according to TeamTalk.

Recent speculation has been linking Liverpool with a move for the French international. Indeed, this latest report claims that the Reds are interested, along with Arsenal and Manchester City.

However, the former Crystal Palace star is said to have little desire to return to the Premier League. Olise is instead open to discussions over a new contract at Bayern, but would be prepared to make a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises.

Liverpool.com says: Olise is precisely the sort of player Liverpool needs on the right-hand side. Having said that, it's always felt like a long shot for him to come to Anfield.

His stock only seems to be rising as well, which will surely lead to more interest from Spain's big two, and we know what usually happens when they get involved in a transfer.

Lamine Camara (Monaco)

Liverpool could have a clear path to sign Lamine Camara, with Ben Jacobs telling CFC Hub that Chelsea may be unwilling to match Monaco’s valuation of the midfielder.

The Blues had looked set to sign Camara on deadline day during the summer, only for the move to be called off by Monaco, with reports suggesting Liverpool may have been in contact.

Monaco is now claimed to have upped its asking price to $79 million (€70M), having previously agreed a fee of around $62 million (€55M) with Chelsea. Jacobs suggests that, unless the price drops again, the Stamford Bridge club will not return, which give Liverpool free reign, although Bayern Munich has been tipped as another possible destination.

Liverpool.com says: It seems inevitable that Camara will leave Monaco soon, it's just a question of where he goes, and whether too much damage has been done with Chelsea.

If that's the case, then it feels like Liverpool should be making a play for him. A new midfielder needs to be one of the priorities over the next couple of windows.
