Vinicius Jr said something to an Arsenal star just hours before getting a red card at Real Madrid

Vinicius Jr’s season went from bad to worse in Real Madrid’s latest game against Villarreal.

The Brazilian was Arsenal’s dream target in the summer transfer window, but he decided to extend his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu in the end.

Despite that, it looks like the Real Madrid superstar has been keeping an eye on the Gunners, or at least his international teammates who don the famous red and white.

On Saturday, Vinicius seemed to be impressed by one Arsenal player.

Vinicius Jr sends message to Bruno Guimaraes after Arsenal beat Leeds United

The Gunners looked nowhere near their best in the first hour of the game. They even went a goal down in that period, and it suddenly started feeling like one of those days.

However, Arsenal stepped it up after that, and Riccardo Calafiori levelled the game with a strike from close range just after the hour mark.

Then, Guimaraes came on as a substitute and changed the game. The Brazilian was full of positive intent, looked incredible on the ball and then scored a brilliant goal from outside the box to put his side in front.

Despite only being on the pitch for 27 minutes, the midfielder was awarded the Player of the Match award after the game, which shows just how good he was.

After getting back into the changing room, Guimaraes got on his phone and uploaded a few pictures from the game on his Instagram account. He received a lot of love there.

One of the messages under the post was from Vinicius Jr, who wrote: “You are a good one, bro!”

Guimaraes was also hailed by his Arsenal teammates. Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes reacted with heart-eyes emojis, while Ezri Konsa wrote: “Top!” Max Dowman called him a “joke” after seeing how good he was.

Vinicius Jr’s disaster just hours after his message to Bruno Guimaraes

Just a few hours after Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Leeds United, Vinicius came off the bench for Real Madrid in their home La Liga game against Villarreal.

The Brazil international has had a poor season so far. He had scored just once before the game last night, and many thought he had finally doubled his tally last night when he found the net.

However, VAR instructed the referee to have a look at what happened during the build-up, and the replays showed Vinicius pulling Nathan Saliba’s hair while running towards the goal.

Not only was his goal disallowed, but Vinicius was also shown a straight red card, as a hair pull is judged as violent conduct.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Vinicius since he chose not to sign for Arsenal in the summer. Perhaps the Gunners dodged a bullet.
