There’s not a whole lot talk about in a preview for this game. The most interesting pieces of information would be regarding the health of the players who didn’t play in the preseason opener, namely Brandon Miller and Christian Anderson. Both were held out with what were called minor, day-to-day injuries, but we haven’t gotten a status update on whether either one will be back for tonight’s game against the Bucks. We know the Hornets will still be without Kon Knueppel and Coby White, who seem destined to come back no sooner than the start of the regular season.

So without any news on that front for the time being, the most interesting part of this game is probably the opponent. The Bucks finally moved on from the Giannis Antetokounmpo experience over the summer and shipped off Bobby Portis with him. In return, they got like half of the Miami Heat’s roster. That, plus a couple of lottery picks, makes for an entirely new look team. The first of their lottery picks, Brayden Burries, has had some nice moments so far. Nate Ament has been a little less ready, but he’s probably not going to play given he twisted his ankle in the Bucks’ last game on Wednesday. We’ll get a little taste of what a team built around Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Ryan Rollins, and Myles Turner looks like.

On the Hornets side, I’d like to see Hannes Steinbach assert himself a little earlier in the game. His preseason debut was a lot like the start of the summer league. He was completely invisible during his first stint or two on the floor and then looked like the best player on the floor for a few minutes late in the game. I also want to see more offense run through Liam McNeeley, and just general good all around play from the new guys.
