The Raptors get their first pre-season win in Vancouver against the LA Clippers. The much-lauded Kawhi Leonard rematch versus his former team will have to wait. He didn’t play.
Kyle Anderson did, though! And he had some really impressive moments, including a couple of defensive plays and a beautiful touch-pass to Jakob Poeltl in transition that showed exactly why he is a perfect Darko Rajakovic type of player.
Ja’Kobe Walter started in place of Leonard in the first half. But Collin Murray-Boyles subbed in for him to start the second half. Walter had a quiet game, but CMB finished with 13 points and 9 rebounds, trying to juggle playing big man and also wing at different times.
Can he successfully juggle this all-season? It’s worth monitoring!
The rest of the starters were sensational! RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley led the scoring. Scottie Barnes led the playmaking. And Jakob Poeltl hasn’t looked this good since 2025.
Here is my full recap from the Raptors second pre-season game versus the Clippers.
Toronto now will play their first game in Scotiabank Arena this season on Tuesday in their 3rd pre-season game versus the defending champion New York Knicks.
Enjoy! And let me know your thoughts.
