Jets make roster moves ahead of Browns game

The New York Jets have waived receiver Jamaal Pritchett, activated receiver Tim Patrick and elevated linebacker Jaden Keller from the practice squad ahead of their game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

If the 6’ 5”, 210 pound Patrick plays on Sunday he will add a large, physical presence to the depleted Jets receiver group. Last season Patrick racked up 15 receptions for 187 yards and three touchdowns playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars. For his career Patrick has 191 receptions for 2590 yards and 18 touchdowns. Patrick has not had a 400 yard season since 2021. He will turn 33 years old in a little over a month, and his best years are long behind him, but perhaps Patrick can turn back the clock a bit and contribute to a Jets receiver group that is in need of some assistance.

Patrick will take the place of Jamaal Pritchett among Jets receivers. The 23 year old, 5’ 8”, 190 pound second year receiver out of South Alabama made his NFL debut last week after the Jets signed him off their practice squad. Pritchett played just three special teams snaps and returned one kickoff in his first taste of NFL action. As often happens with fringe back of the roster players, that taste of the NFL was short-lived. Pritchett was waived to make room for Patrick. Perhaps he will be re-signed to the practice squad in the coming days.

Jaden Keller is a 23 year old, 6’ 3”, 235 pound linebacker out of Virginia Tech. He went undrafted in 2026 and the Jets signed him as an undrafted free agent before releasing him prior to the start of the regular season and adding him to the practice squad. Like Pritchett, Keller made his NFL debut last week when the Jets elevated him from the practice squad. Last week Keller played 14 special teams snaps against the Chicago Bears. During the preseason, Keller had 10 total tackles and a pass defended.
