Arsenal need Manchester City to get points deducted, their win over Liverpool is a worrying sign

**Mikel Arteta will have looked on today and wondered just how close to or above his current Arsenal team are to this new-look Manchester City side.**

City went to Anfield and trounced Liverpool 3-0 this afternoon to keep up their perfect record at the start of this [Premier League](https://www.arsenalinsider.com/tag/premier-league/) season.

While Arsenal are getting results in a different way right now and grinding wins out, City seem to be simply cutting through teams with ease and the reality is that if there wasn’t any off-field noise, we’d be talking about a team who look unstoppable.

Indeed, with the swell of charges hanging over their heads and continuing to dominate the media talk, it’s probably a good thing for Arsenal that City could well get heavy punishment.

It might seem negative to say this given Arsenal have dropped points just once this season, this Man City team is already looking a cut above everyone else, including the Gunners.

Six games, six wins, 16 goals scored and just five conceded shows City are playing with a swagger and confidence that shows they’re ready to win again. Indeed, today’s win at Anfield was simply the icing and the cherry on top of the cake, proving they can dismantle even the best teams.

As of right now, we’re looking at a team who, barring a disaster, will be champions.

Yes, Arsenal will contest things and will be right in the mix all season but on current form and squad strength, it looks like City are ahead in every aspect.

Now, the Gunners will be hoping that whatever punishment is coming the way of Man City in the coming months comes in the form of points deductions. If that happens, then the Premier League title should be Arsenal’s to lose.

Worryingly though, that looks like being the only way we’ll see City drop out of the race at the top.

Until then, we are going to be sat looking at a City team who are back to their very best.
