Tottenham Hotspur face competition in the pursuit of Arthur Dias, with clubs from Saudi Arabia now entering the race for his signature.
The international break is finally over, and the 15 Tottenham Hotspur players who travelled across the continent have now returned to their club.
One of Spurs’ transfer targets, Arthur Dias, was also involved with Brazil during the September break. The defender made two substitute appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, leaving the Brazilian coach impressed.
Ancelotti said: “I really liked Arthur Dias, whom I did not know. I am getting to know these players much better. And Arthur was good. We have a future, despite the criticism.”

Tottenham face competition for Arthur Dias as Saudi clubs enter race
Reports earlier this year suggested Spurs were keen on the centre-back, and now there have been fresh developments.
According to Brazilian outlets Três Pontos and Trétis, interest in Dias is understood to have increased, with clubs in Saudi Arabia entering the race for the 19-year-old.
It is claimed these sides have contacted the teenager’s representatives to enquire about his situation. However, nothing concrete has yet been discussed, which is good news for Tottenham… for now.
Spurs must act quickly to secure Arthur Dias as competition heats up
The report further explains that Dias would prefer to continue his career in Europe, which is encouraging for Spurs, but that does not eliminate competition.
Interest remains strong, with Premier League clubs Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Brentford all monitoring the centre-back.
Spanish giants Barcelona are also keen, having sent scouts to watch the teenager in Bahia.
Tottenham’s interest in Arthur Dias saw them submit a bid of £18.2m (€21m) for 80 per cent of his rights earlier this year, but that was rejected. Athletico continue to work with a minimum price of €30m (£26m).
