Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly tracking Roma right-back Emanuele Lulli, according to TEAMtalk.
Premier League Scouts Impressed by Lulli
English scouts were originally watching Roma’s Wesley but came away admiring the 19-year-old. Tottenham are also interested in the Brazilian, while Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are aware of Lulli’s rise.
Lulli joined Roma’s academy in 2021 after starting out at Tre Teste. He made his senior debut under Gian Piero Gasperini this season, keeping two clean sheets in four Serie A appearances.
Roma Plan New Contract to Deter Suitors
The Italian club have no intention of selling just yet. They reportedly plan to tie the youngster down to a fresh long-term deal, which could raise his asking price.
Lulli’s Strengths
The 6ft right-footed defender can operate at right-back or wing-back. He is technically sound, dribbles well in tight spaces and delivers dangerous crosses. He is also strong in the air and dependable defensively.
Why Right-Back Is a Priority
Liverpool have lacked consistency there since Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure. Conor Bradley has been sidelined for months, while Jeremie Frimpong has struggled to settle since joining from Bayer Leverkusen.
Arsenal have Ben White and Jurrien Timber, but both have had fitness problems. Chelsea signed Marco Palestra this summer, yet he has been troubled by injuries.
What the Interest Tells Us
Lulli looks a smart long-term investment for any of the three. Liverpool arguably have the most pressing need. However, Roma’s contract plan could make a deal expensive, so a concrete approach may not come until next year.
