SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - There have been many iconic matchups between New Orleans and Minnesota over the years.
The Vikings and Saints matched up again with the Vikes looking to keep their undefeated record going.
Vikings were trailing in the 3rd quarter, until a little Justin Jefferson magic, makes the catch with three defenders surrounding him to give Minnesota a 13-7 lead.
New Orleans tried to get it back right away, but Byron Murphy was lurking for the interception, the ball went right back to the Vikes.
4th quarter game tied at 13 a piece until Aaron Jones blasted into the endzone for another Minnesota lead.
Brian Flores continued his magic today and Murphy had his first multi interception game since 2021.
Byron Murphy, Vikings cornerback with two interceptions on Sunday said, “Shoutout to the D Line for the first one got the quarterback pressure. Obviously threw it to me, like I said a Christmas gift I’ll take those but this was a good day as a defense overall. We’re a defense that can be unstoppable we really do what we want to do and like I said it’s just guys being on the same page, guys giving 110%.”
Blake Cashman, Vikings linebacker said, “Wanting to create as much stress and chaos as we could for their offensive lineman, their quarterback and I thought we adjusted well and guys executed at a high level.”
Aaron Jones Sr., Vikings running back said, “We’re close. I feel like we played a good game minus the miscues, two of the miscues we had in the redzone where we gave them the ball but you can see our offense start to put it together and now it’s just staying consistent with that, no plays where we’re going backwards.”
Justin Jefferson, Vikings wide receiver said, “Just to see all the familiar faces around the stadium, all of my friends and family here to support me, it was great. To get a touchdown, to celebrate, and to get a victory here it was... I couldn’t ask for no better.”
