After winning two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey in the last two years, FC Barcelona have once again started the 2026-27 season in blazing fashion and are clearly looking to be the team to beat in Spain and Europe.
The Catalans have won all of their nine games played so far, eight in La Liga and one in the Champions League, putting in brilliant performances in almost all of these matches.
Even though fans have now come to naturally expect such good results and performances from their team, the players and the coaching staff have to put in a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure their level remains up to the expectations generated.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the former Barcelona forward Pau Victor, who currently plays for the Portuguese side Braga, appeared in an interview with Que t’hi Jugues, and talked about how demanding the training sessions with Flick are:
“Hansi Flick is as tough as he seems from the outside. He demands a lot from you in training; I came away feeling dizzy from more than one session.”
“Flick likes hard-working players who stay in the gym after training. He really values these little details.”
Like most fans, Victor revealed that he was also surprised by the rapid growth his friend Gerard Martin has experienced under Flick:
“I obviously didn’t expect Gerard Martín to become a starter for Barça, but I’m not surprised by the incredible performances he has been putting in… His greatest strength is working quietly and wanting to improve every day. He has had to work hard for it and spends a lot of time analysing video footage.”
While praising Raphinha’s performances, the forward assured that the Brazilian is even better as a person:
“Raphinha is spectacular. His ability to defend and attack at the same time is brilliant, and he finishes everything off with a goal. He is an incredible player, but he is even better as a person.”
This interview from Pau Victor provides a good idea of how hard Barcelona players have to work under Hansi Flick. Hopefully, their good work will get the deserved rewards at the end of the season, and these players will be able to bring even more glory to the Blaugrana club.
