Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract with Arsenal, while Declan Rice is also expected to agree to a new deal soon. The Gunners are confident that the England international will remain at the club as they look to retain their key players.
However, Rice is not the only player Arsenal want to secure for the future. The club are also working to keep another important member of their squad.
Arsenal target Timber contract renewal
Many of the players who helped Arsenal win the league title last season remain at the club, and those who continue to feature are considered important to the team.
Jurrien Timber is the next player Arsenal want to tie down to a new contract. Despite his injury history, the Gunners believe he is too valuable to lose and are keen to secure his long-term future.
The defender is regarded as one of the best right backs in England. His versatility also allows him to play at centre back, making him an important option for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal continue to compete at the highest level.

Gunners confident of reaching an agreement
According to TeamTalk, Arsenal are confident that Timber will agree to a new deal soon. Talks have already taken place with his representatives, but no formal agreement has been reached yet.
The club reportedly has no reason to believe negotiations will run into problems, suggesting they remain optimistic about securing the defender’s future.
Keeping Timber would represent another important step in Arsenal’s efforts to retain their key players. His defensive quality and ability to operate in different positions give Arteta valuable options throughout the season.
With Arteta’s contract situation resolved and Rice expected to follow, Arsenal will hope to reach an agreement with Timber soon. Securing his future would help the club maintain stability within the squad as they continue pursuing their ambitions in the coming seasons.
