Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts questioned the team's coaching decisions following their latest defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni admitted he made the wrong decision as Cam Little kicked a 57-yard field goal with one second remaining to seal a 19-17 victory for Jacksonville. After Jake Elliott put Philadelphia ahead with a 48-yard field goal with eight seconds left, the Eagles needed to prevent the Jaguars from getting into range for a reply.

However, Sirianni opted to give the Jaguars a chance to return the kick rather than send it out of bounds. Ameer Abdullah exploited the decision with a 53-yard return, setting up Little to snatch a dramatic win for Jacksonville.

Speaking on the call, the head coach admitted he made a mistake. Sirianni said, "You know, I didn't make the right decision, and I lost us that game. And that's what I said to our guys. And what hurts there is that, you know, the guys fought so hard, and I don't make the decision that I should make at the end of the game. I cost us that game. I put that fully on me."

He continued, "At the end of the day, I didn't make the right decision, and it cost us the game. You know, and so there's no other way around it. There's nothing really else to say about that. It's just, you know, I didn't do my job good enough in that situation."

Hurts was asked about Sirianni taking accountability for his decision after the game and what it meant to hear his head coach accept responsibility. "As a competitor, we shouldn't be in the situation, so I've got to play better. Everybody's got to play better" Hurts told reporters.

"I think we did a lot better job of doing the things that took no talent with penalties and what not. Don't have a stat sheet on me, but you know, we've got to gel. There are opportunities out there for us to win these games. We've got to take advantage of them."

Hurts was also asked whether he agreed with Sirianni's decisions in the closing stages of the game. "It's not my place. I'm prepared as a QB to not worry about those things" he added.

"I honor the play call, honor the things that come into the game. When I'm up at night I think 'Should I have said something?' but ultimately there's a commitment to going out there and executing."

The Eagles have now blown a win probability of more than 97% in back-to-back games, highlighting their struggles to close out victories after surrendering late leads in consecutive defeats.

Despite winning the Super Bowl two years ago, the Eagles have suffered significant roster losses, with Lane Johnson retiring this week and Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith sidelined by injuries. The Eagles' injury problems worsened in London, with running back Will Shipley and linebacker Jalyx Hunt also suffering injuries.

Philadelphia face the Carolina Panthers next week before an NFC East showdown with rivals the Dallas Cowboys.
