Everton manager David Moyes is being linked with a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes’ current Everton contract expires at the end of the season, and there’s no sign of a renewal at this stage.

The Friedkin Group are trying to sell the football club, so Moyes’ future seems to have been pushed to the back of the list of priorities.

With that said, it’s invited Celtic to explore the possibility of appointing Moyes next summer when his contract runs out.

Martin O’Neill is currently under pressure, so the Toffees manager is being considered as his replacement.

Everton fans have been reacting to that rumour on TalkingPoints, and here’s what they’ve had to say.

Everton fans react to the news David Moyes could leave for Celtic

Everton fans are all pretty aligned in their thinking, as many can see Moyes taking the Celtic job next summer.

Chillout also feels he may be in contention for the Scotland position.

Will.butcher feels Moyes should stay put on Merseyside for now, especially considering how much of a mess Celtic are.

Jonathan.gorrie also envisions Moyes at Celtic but stresses the finances in the Scottish game may cause issues.

Tom.procter feels the new ownership will ultimately make the call on whether Moyes stays or goes, so it’s a tough one to predict right now.

Ultimately, this topic will split fan opinion. Some have always been behind Moyes, whilst others feel a change was needed at the end of last season after missing out on Europe.

As Tom rightly points out, a new ownership would require yet another transition, and there’s nobody better placed to lead that process than Moyes.

Former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has been loosely linked with the Everton job, so he could be an exciting option.

Former Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna should also be considered, if indeed Moyes does leave next year.
