Arsenal duo missing from training today after both got injured after Leeds game as Saliba…

Arsenal players held an open training session today ahead of their second game of the Champions League league phase against Lille at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

The Gunners resumed the international break with a 2-1 victory over Leeds United on Saturday and Mikel Arteta will be keen for another win tomorrow.

However, Arsenal are likely to be without Martin Zubimendi and Piero Hincapie for the game as neither was seen in training this afternoon.

Both appeared to have suffered knocks in the warm-down following Saturday’s game.

Hincapie had to be carried off the pitch during the post-match warm-down on Saturday after coming on as a substitute in the 82nd minute of the game.

He was left out of Ecuador’s squad for the last international break’s friendlies due to a groin injury and the North London club will hope he has not suffered a serious injury.

It appears tomorrow’s game will come early for him, and Arsenal may have to wait until Sunday when they take on Nottingham Forest to see whether he will be available for selection.

Zubimendi was on the bench all through the game as Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly started the game, while Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench to replace the 20-year-old.

Arsenal were handed an injury boost after William Saliba was spotted in training. The Frenchman is back training on grass and was seen completing some individual training today.

The France international defender has not played for the Gunners this season after picking up a knock during the World Cup.

However, he is closing in on a return to full fitness and could be back in action later this month or in November.
