Enzo Maresca and his players hit back after the international break with the ultimate performance away at a hostile Anfield on Sunday afternoon, dismissing of Andoni Iraola's Liverpool via a 0-3 scoreline on Merseyside.

Riding an early storm and hostility in the air in light of the Premier League's guilty verdict aimed at Manchester City, it was the Sky Blues who took control in the second-half after Ryan Gravenberch's second yellow card dismissal.

Erling Haaland struck first from a deflected Jeremy Doku lay-off, before the Belgian issued his trademark blow when cutting inside to curl a sublime effort beyond a helpless Alisson in the Liverpool goal.

Rayan Cherki would then wrap up the scoring by converting a brilliant team goal, earning Manchester City all three points and maintaining their two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table - and remaining unbeaten across all competitions.

It is the reigning European champions up next however, with the French giants travelling to the Etihad Stadium on a night when former City boss Pep Guardiola is due to be in attendance for the first time since leaving the club in the summer.

Now, ahead of the meeting between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, UEFA have announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at the Etihad Stadium!

Match Referee

UEFA have confirmed that Sven Jablonski - the 36-year-old, Bremen-based referee - will oversee proceedings on the field as the lead match official at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

The experienced official will head-up an all-German team of match officials, in what will be his seventh game of the season across all competitions, and his second game in the UEFA Champions League this campaign.

Jablonski has so far officiated contests across the Bundesliga, Champions League and the competition's qualification phase, as well as the UEFA Nations League - recently overseeing England's 0-7 win away to Croatia during the international break.

The only previous occasion in which Manchester City have been officiated by Sven Jablonski was an instantly forgettable affair for those of a Sky Blue persuasion - a 3-1 defeat in northern Norway against Bodo/Glimt in January, 2026.

That night saw Pep Guardiola's side on the receiving end of two yellow cards and a second yellow card dismissal for Rodri.

Assistant Referees

Accompanying Sven Jablonski at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night will be fellow Germany match officials Eduard Beitinger and Christian Dietz, appointed as the game's assistant referees.

Video Assistant Referees

Overseeing Manchester City against Paris Saint-Germain from the VAR Hub will be Bastian Dankert as Video Assistant Referee, alongside Assistant Video Assistant Referee Sören Storks.

Fourth Official

Managing events concerning Manchester City's Enzo Maresca and Paris Saint-Germain's Luis Enrique will be German referee Tobias Reichel, appointed into the role of Fourth Official.
