**_Sky Sports_ pundit Jamie Carragher says Man City and Arsenal are “the two best teams by a mile” in the Premier League.**
Enzo Maresca’s men secured a comfortable away win against Liverpool at Anfield, and Carragher says under normal circumstances, it would have been a massive statement in the title race.
“They’re the two best teams by a mile, we know that, and no one else is really going to compete with them for the title. We want every game to matter, but right now it doesn’t.”
Carragher is, of course, referring to the [**potential punishment**](https://mancitynews.com/man-city-news-ffp-appeal-details/) that City are facing for breaching FFP rules, but when asked to ignore that factor and give his take on whether City are title favourites, he replied:
“I think it’s hard to do that this early. But what you would say from Man City’s point of view is they’ve gone and won at two of their toughest venues, Anfield and Old Trafford, and won in very difficult circumstances.”
“I’m a big fan of Enzo Maresca, I always have been. I remember him coming here with Chelsea in his first season when Liverpool won the league, and Maresca was fantastic tactically.”
Maresca has settled in quickly at Man City
------------------------------------------
Many felt that the transition after Pep Guardiola would be a lot bumpier, but the Italian seems to have taken to the job like a duck to water.
It does help that Maresca has worked at the club before and knows some of the players, but to hit the ground running in the manner he has is very impressive.
Who is the bookies’ favourite to win the title?
-----------------------------------------------
Due to the spectre of a potential points deduction, betting firms have placed longer odds on a City title win than you would normally expect.
Despite being top of the table with 6 wins from 6 games, some bookmakers have them as long as 7/2 for top spot. Arsenal, in contrast, are odds-on favourites, with Chelsea outsiders at 12/1.
