Nacogdoches’ Jones has interception in Broncos win over Chargers

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KTRE) - Former Nacogdoches Dragon Brandon Jones snagged his second interception of the season in the Denver Broncos’ 23-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

It’s the first interception for Jones since picking off Whitehouse’s Patrick Mahomes in Week 1 against the Chiefs.

Along with the interception, Jones finished with 4 tackles, 2 pass deflections and 1 fumble recovery. On the Chargers’ first drive of the game, Justin Herbert completed a pass to Charlie Kolar. Talanoa Hufanga forced a fumble and Jones recovered the ball, setting up the Broncos at the Chargers’ 40-yard line. In the fourth quarter, with the Broncos holding a three-point lead, Jones intercepted Herbert’s pass at the Chargers’ 41-yard line and returned it seven yards with 3:26 left in the game.

The Broncos (3-2) have a short turnaround as they host the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, on Thursday.
