Joe Gelhardt described getting on the scoresheet against Everton as an amazing moment, as he played his part in earning Hull City a point in a 2-2 draw.
Gelhardt, who arrived back at City late in the transfer window after the Tigers struck a permanent deal with Leeds United, has had to be patient for his chance after suffering from an ankle injury. He made his third debut for the club against the Toffees and scored a fine goal.
Latching onto a clever through ball from Sorba Thomas, Gelhardt cleverly beat Jordan Pickford to score his first Premier League goal since playing for the Whites in a win against Norwich City in March 2022
The 24-year-old will now hope his performance on Sunday is enough to keep him in Sergej Jakirovic's side for Saturday's trip to Fulham, after coming into the side and replacing in-form Mo Belloumi, with the Algerian ace bagging the equaliser.

"Every player wants to play. When I found out (he was starting), I was buzzing and couldn't wait to get playing," Gelhardt told Match of the Day.
"It's an amazing moment. I've waited a long time to play back in the Premier League since I was at Leeds, so to do that and score was an unbelievable feeling.
"I just remember Sorba [Thomas] played a great pass and I was just waiting for movement from [Jordan] Pickford to see if he would do anything, and then I decided to go with that chip. I think it's a good point."
Gelhardt knows there are plenty of players chomping at the bit to get a place in Jakirovic's side, so he is acutely aware that when the chance comes, he's got to take it.
"There is a lot of competition, we know we have a lot of great quality in the dressing room, so when you get your chance, you have to take it with both hands to try and stay in the team and give the manager a decision," added the City favourite.
