Everton manager David Moyes is currently out of contract at the end of the season.
David Moyes has months left on his Everton deal, and with the Friedkin Group looking to sell, it leaves his future in doubt.
It was reported on Monday morning that Celtic are considering appointing Moyes as Martin O’Neill’s successor next summer.
Toffees fans can see Moyes leaving for Celtic, considering he has strong ties to the club, having spent time there during his playing career.
So, with that said, we’ve taken a closer look at what Moyes has previously said about his future on Merseyside.

David Moyes has previously said there’s been no talk of a long-term future at Everton
Speaking in May, Moyes admitted that there’s not really been any dialogue over a new deal to stay beyond June 2027.
“We’ve not really had any big conversations yet,” the Everton boss explained.
“No, nothing too deep, but I think that we have to continue to try to find a way of building again and going again. That would be my thoughts.”
In a separate interview, the Toffees boss also stated that it’s not a priority for him to engage in contract talks.
“It is certainly at the back of the pile for me. I think by the time you get to this age you just keep going and if it doesn’t work the next day then it doesn’t work and you just go around it, so it is not a big situation where it is a contract I need or anything like that.”
So, based on those comments, it seems neither Moyes nor the club are convinced he’ll be staying on Merseyside past this season.
The Scotsman will have to assess whether he even wants to work under the new ownership if indeed the Friedkin Group do complete a sale.
Often, new owners want to hire their own manager, too, so that could be another reason why Moyes may depart Finch Farm.
