Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla shared injury updates on two players on Monday.

Ron Harper Jr., who missed Boston's first two preseason games with a shoulder injury sustained during training camp, returned to practice to start the week and is considered day-to-day.

Devin Carter, meanwhile, continues to deal with an illness after missing Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

It's unclear whether Harper and Carter will be available for Wednesday's matchup with the Charlotte Hornets.

Harper is entering his second season with the Celtics. In 29 games last season, he averaged 4.2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists while shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 35.0 percent from 3-point range.

Harper is under contract with the Celtics through 2028-29. Carter has more at stake this preseason as he looks to earn a spot on Boston's roster.

The No. 13 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Carter spent his first two seasons with the Sacramento Kings before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in June. The Hawks then waived him in September, and he subsequently signed a training camp deal with the Celtics.

Carter made an impressive first impression with the Celtics, scoring 17 points in 25 minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Celtics have two preseason games remaining. After hosting the Hornets on Wednesday, they will close preseason on Friday with a trip to Philadelphia to face the 76ers.
