Arsenal are continuing their efforts to secure the futures of their key players, with Martin Odegaard reportedly next in line for a new contract. The Gunners want to maintain the core of their squad as they look to build on their progress under Mikel Arteta, making it important to keep their most influential figures at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta has recently extended his contract until 2030, while Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are also reportedly close to reaching agreements of their own. Arsenal are keen to ensure that their long-term plans include Odegaard, who remains one of the most important players in the team.
The Norwegian midfielder has made an encouraging start to the season after an injury disrupted much of his previous campaign. His return to form is a significant boost for Arteta, who will want to rely on his captain as Arsenal pursue their ambitions across domestic and European competitions.
Arsenal plan new contract talks with Odegaard
Odegaard has established himself as one of Arsenal’s leading players since joining the club, and losing him would be a major setback for the Gunners. According to Football Insider, Arsenal are planning to open talks over a contract extension as soon as possible, with the club determined to secure his future.
Arsenal’s approach reflects their wider strategy of retaining the players who have helped them progress in recent seasons. With several contract situations being addressed, securing Odegaard’s long-term future would represent another important step in maintaining stability within the squad.

Gunners confident over Odegaard’s future
Arsenal are reportedly relaxed about the situation because they believe Odegaard is settled at the club. His position within the team and the progress being made under Arteta are reasons for optimism that negotiations can proceed without major difficulties.
The midfielder can see that Arsenal are building a competitive side, and remaining at the Emirates would give him the opportunity to continue being part of that project. The club will hope their ambitions and recent progress strengthen their position when discussions begin.
