Steve Kerr provides fresh update on Kristaps Porzingis' mysterious absence

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced that Kristaps Porzingis will meet with team medical staff on October 13 for evaluation. Porzingis has missed training camp and preseason due to an undisclosed illness. His return timeline remains uncertain as the regular season approaches.

Kristaps Porzingis is still suffering from his mysterious illness that keeps him away from the Golden State Warriors.

However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has revealed that Porzingis will arrive to Chase Center on October 13, where he will meet with Golden State's director of sports medicine, Rick Celebrini and the medical staff to evaluate his current condition.

Kerr still wasn't able to detail what the Latvian center is suffering from or where he has been, but emphasized that decisions about his possible return will be made after the medical tests.

Earlier reports suggested that the Warriors are preparing for Porzingis to miss the start of the season.

Porzingis has been away from the team since late September, when Golden State announced that he would be out indefinitely. He missed the team's training camp in Hawaii and their preseason games since then.

The Latvian previously revealed that he had been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), but Golden State has not confirmed whether his current absence is connected to that condition.

Porzingis joined Golden State in a February trade from the Atlanta Hawks.

He appeared in only 15 games for the Warriors and 32 overall last season, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks before signing a two-year, $40 million deal with Golden State in June.
