LeBron James is firmly convinced that the Oklahoma City Thunder will run it back next NBA season.
In a preview of the latest "Mind the Game" podcast episode, James issued a firm message to the NBA regarding OKC.
“I think it’s very important that we, as fans of the game and casuals, don’t write off OKC just yet,” James claimed.
OKC Thunder ready to run it back
The Oklahoma City Thunder fell just one victory short of returning to the NBA Finals last season.
Their reign came to an end in the Western Conference Finals, where Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs eliminated them. OKC battled through the intense seven-game series despite missing Ajay Mitchell and All-NBA forward Jalen Williams due to injuries.
Now, even with the offseason exits of Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins, and Isaiah Joe, the Thunder are still primed to compete and make a deep run next year. Led by reigning and back-to-back NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the sky is still the limit for them to reclaim their place as the NBA's best.
OKC's road back to the top will begin Oct. 20, when they face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in a highly anticipated season opener for the 2026-27 campaign.
