New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown is uncertain about Karl-Anthony Towns' activity at power forward going into the 2026-27 NBA season.

Brown is gearing up for the second season of his head coaching stint with the Knicks. Year 1 was a massive success for the veteran coach, leading the franchise to its third overall championship, its first since 1973.

Towns played a major role in the historic playoff run, being an active playmaker and defender that unlocked the full potential of the New York offense. Having switched between power forward and center throughout his career, Brown was honest about the star's role at power forward during Monday's press conference.

“I'm not sure yet. There's a chance he may play a little bit more at the four, but what does that equate to? Again, I'm not sure. He has a better feel, and I have a better feel of how to use him when he's there because we have to make some adjustments to what we what we do. But I couldn't give you an exact number,” Brown said.
