Josh Allen rushing stats: Bills QB runs through Rams to set career record pace image
The Los Angeles Rams, in trying to avoid getting beat by Josh Arm's big arm on Monday night, got beaten up by his strong legs. The Buffalo Bills quarterback needed all of his career-best rushing performance to get his first career overtime victory, 37-34, to close Week 5 of the 2026 NFL season.
Allen had his second-highest single-game rushing mark by ripping through the Rams' defense for 121 yards on only 10 attempts. He fell short by 14 yards to match his personal best 135 rushing yards, set way back in his 2018 rookie season. That total, however, was marred by a 21-17 loss by the Dolphins.
This is the first time in four tries that Allen has rushed for 100 yards or more in a game and also won the game. His last time breaking the century mark also was in overtime, a 33-27 loss vs. Tom Brady's Buccaneers in 2021.
Allen was contained as a downfield passer by the Rams. He completed only 12 of his 19 attempts for 210 yards, a sack and an interception. Most of the big-play damage of his 10.5 yards per attempt came from his backs, wide receivers and tight ends running after the catch.
Before Allen ran for 32 combined yards on back-to-back runs to set up the game-winning late OT field goal by Tyler Bass, he got a rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Here's looking more into how Allen is enjoying unprecedented dominance as a running QB.

Josh Allen finally is in the top five for 100-yard rushing games by a QB
Allen was tied with several other quarterbacks with three career 100-yard games, including Cam Newton, Randall Cunningham and Donovan McNabb. But by getting his fourth against the Rams, he has tied Russell Wilson in fourth place all time.
Lamar Jackson is still well ahead of everyone with 14 career 100-yard rushing games as a QB. Michael Vick is second with 10, while Justin Fields has 5. Those are the only QBs ahead of Allen now.
Josh Allen continues to add to his all-time QB rushing TDs record
Allen is now up to 87 career rushing TDs, inching closer to 100 for his career. He is now 12 ahead of Newton in that category. Jalen Hurts is a distant third with 64. Jackson has only 36 and Fields, no longer starting, is at 23.
Josh Allen is close to tying another NFL QB rushing record
Allen has now rushed for at least one TD in each of the Bills' first five games. He is one short of matching the quarterback rushing scoring streak of 6 games set by Fields for the Bears in 2022.

Josh Allen is headed toward breaking his own NFL QB rushing record
For the '26 season, Allen is up to 8 rushing TDs. He holds the record for most rushing TDs in a season with 15 from his 2023 season, when he tied the Eagles' Jalen Hurts. After that point, Allen ran for 12 TDs in '24 and another 14 TDs last season.
This year, Allen is on pace for an incredible 27 rushing TDs should he play in all 17 games. He's bound to cool down at some point, but Allen is well within reach of becoming the first quarterback to rush for 20 or more TDs in a season.
Going into the Rams game, Allen had 118 rushing yards total in his first four games, so he more than doubled that in Week 5. That accelerates his 17-game pace to 813 yards, which would also be a career high.
Allen is the most devastating runner at the position in NFL history. He's now on track to have a QB rushing season for the ages. That would almost guarantee his second league MVP award in three years.
