We now know the Chargers plan for the NFL trade deadline amid 0-5 start image
It's been a disappointing start to the NFL season for many teams, but none have been worse than the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers are 0-5, and nothing looks likely to change soon. They haven't been able to do enough on either side of the ball, which is a very disappointing sign.
Offensively, this Chargers team has been as bad as anyone could imagine, currently scoring the third-fewest points in the entire AFC.
Only two teams are below them: the tanking Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans. Many assume both teams will sell at the deadline, especially with some of their veterans, but there was certainly hope the Chargers wouldn't be in that boat just a couple of weeks ago.
Fast forward to Week 6, and the latest report from Adam Schefter suggests Los Angeles will be one of the teams that moves on from pieces.
"The teams that you look at are the teams that aren't winning that can shed salaries and pick up draft picks.
“I would look at the Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, and Cardinals,” Schefter said.
The Chargers have a lot of tough decisions to make, as multiple players could be valuable to other contending teams around the league.
There's also a Justin Herbert question that could come up, though it still seems premature to suggest they need to move on from him, given that he's a franchise-caliber quarterback.
As for others, reports indicate that a guy like Khalil Mack could become available. Mack is a very good player even at this stage of his career at 35 years old, currently posting three sacks and eight total tackles.
