Josh Allen was not flawless in the Buffalo Bills’ thrilling 37-34 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. However, his impactful all-around performance deserved recognition, and former NFL star Robert Griffin III took his praise for the Buffalo quarterback to another level.
In an X post following the game, Griffin described the Bills quarterback as one of the most remarkable quarterbacks the league has ever witnessed.
“Josh Allen is one of the most special talents we have ever seen at the QB position. I don’t care who your favorite player is or who your favorite team is. Don’t take what you are watching for granted,” Griffin III wrote.
With the team’s No. 1 receiver, DJ Moore, sidelined and Joshua Palmer also unavailable, Buffalo faced additional challenges. Nevertheless, Allen’s ability to make plays with both his arm and his legs became the biggest difference-maker for the Bills.
The Buffalo star completed 12 of 19 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also carried the ball 10 times for 121 yards and a rushing touchdown, finishing with 331 total yards and two touchdowns.
Against the Rams, Allen recorded 107 scramble yards, the second-highest single-game total of his career and his most since his rookie season. With the number, he became the only player with multiple games featuring at least 100 scramble yards since 2018.
For Allen, the victory carried additional personal significance, as it marked his first career overtime win after losing his previous seven overtime games, including postseason games.
Alongside Allen, James Cook played a crucial role in helping the Bills establish their ground game and secure the hard-fought victory. The running back finished with 111 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The victory improved the Bills’ record to 4-1 on the season. Allen's team will take on the Las Vegas Raiders in their upcoming game.
