Coach Joe Brady's Buffalo Bills survived a wild night in Los Angeles that included an Alaric Jackson punch on Bradley Chubb. Brady's team won 37-34, but it wasn't all a bed of roses as Brady commented on a subpar passing night and Chubb described the wild scene that unfolded.
The Bills OLB's comments were shared by California Post Sports during which he attempted to play it cool.
“Just emotions, you know what I mean, emotional game. It was a close game, and you know, they always catch the second guy, so I let him swing, and then my teammates held me back and I just chilled.”
Chubb was asked who he was “quarrelling with” and said it was more than just Jackson.
“No, I mean, it's the whole team, man, you know, just like I said, emotional game, tempers got flared, but it is what it is, we flushed it and we're on to next week. Yeah, somebody swung, but hey, that's not on me to tell who. There's cameras out there. I just know, just ready for next week.”
The wild postgame scuffle obscured a gritty effort from the Bills that caused Josh Allen to react afterward. Allen accomplished a career-first with the win that will quiet his doubters and detractors heading into Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Brady and the Bills look like a whole new team after their big road win, exemplified by the poise that Chubb showed after getting blasted by a 330-plus pound lineman. The Bills will need every ounce of toughness and poise going forward as they become the hunted again among the NFL's elite.
