Despite now being a two-time UEFA Champions League winner, Luis Enrique has said that he is feeling the pressure now more than ever.
The Spaniard, who succeeded Christophe Galtier at Paris Saint-Germain, has secured his status as the greatest manager in the club’s history. Not only has he won Ligue 1 in each of his three seasons at the helm, but he has also done what no other PSG manager has done: won the Champions League. He has achieved that feat twice in two seasons and, going into this season, _Les Parisiens_ are looking to become only the second team to win it three times in a row.
Luis Enrique, who only recently signed a contract extension until 2030, has said that he doesn’t feel like he can rest on his laurels. _“Now there is even more pressure on me to show that I am ready to keep going and that I want to win many more trophies with Paris Saint-Germain,”_ he told [PSG’s official channels](https://www.psg.fr/en/content/interview-luis-enrique-psg-tv-paris-saint-germain-2026-2027). _“I am not calmer or more relaxed simply because people tell me they are very happy. Parisians often tell me: ‘You have changed our lives’, but we have to be careful not to exaggerate the importance of football. There are many things in life that are more important.”_
PSG have had a difficult start to the season and, going into Wednesday night’s Champions League match against Manchester City, the club sit sixth in Ligue 1, albeit they are now on a three-game winning streak in the league. _“Defeats are precisely what force us to question ourselves. I do not need to look at other coaches for motivation. I have no intention of trying to improve my record or my CV simply to surpass them,”_ added Luis Enrique, who, now untouchable at PSG, is looking to make even more history.
