West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos could be the subject of a bid from other clubs in the New Year, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.
The Greek international will have 12 months remaining on his contract next summer, and posting on X, Plettenberg said that the player is “attracting significant interest” from other teams, with no extension currently on the cards:
🚨👀 Konstantinos Mavropanos, one to watch for the next two transfer windows.
The 28 y/o Greek top defender is attracting significant interest and has joined ROOF as his new agency.

As Plettenberg mentions, Mavropanos is regarded as a key member of West Ham’s squad, so his departure would be a significant blow.
Mavropanos has had an impressive start to the season
The 28-year-old has 4 goals and 1 assist in 10 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers.
Of course, by far the most memorable moment of Mavropanos‘s campaign so far was the equaliser against rivals Millwall in the 2-2 draw just before the international break.

Keeping the defender may hinge on West Ham securing promotion
You can’t blame Mavropanos for keeping his options open at this stage. If top-flight clubs are circling the former Arsenal player, then he could be tempted to leave the London Stadium.
In the event that he decides to stay until the end of the season, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side do get promoted, Mavropanos may well end up staying.
A Premier League return is far from guaranteed at this stage. The Irons currently find themselves outside of the automatic promotion places.
