Gabriel missed the decisive penalty as Arsenal lost the Champions League final to PSG at the end of last season, but he is already looking ahead to another campaign. The Gunners are among the clubs many expect to progress deep into this season’s competition, and Gabriel will hope to help them go one step further.
The Brazilian was important in Arsenal’s run to the final, forming a strong partnership with William Saliba. Together, they remain arguably one of the best defensive pairings in European football.
Gabriel ready to lead Arsenal again
Saliba has yet to play this season because of a back problem. Arsenal signed Ezri Konsa in the summer and have managed in the Frenchman’s absence so far, but they will give Saliba time to recover rather than rush his return.
In the meantime, Gabriel remains a key figure in defence. His strength and determination could prove important as Arsenal look to build on last season’s European campaign and compete for major honours.
The Gunners have made encouraging progress in the Champions League since returning to the competition. This season offers another opportunity to win the trophy, although they must deliver on the pitch rather than rely on expectations.

Gabriel targets another Champions League final
Ahead of the Lille game, Gabriel discussed the team’s motivation and desire to compete for every trophy, according to Arsenal Media.
“I think we are really happy to be in the Champions League again.
“we want to keep the momentum.
“Last year, we did really well in the Champions League, so I think it’s a big opportunity for us again to attack the Champions League. We are very motivated, we want to attack every trophy.
“Tomorrow, we’re going to have another opportunity to play in the Champions League and to play in front of our people; I think we are ready to go.”
Gabriel’s words reflect Arsenal’s determination to build on last season’s run. The defender wants another chance to reach the final, but the team must maintain its momentum and turn its ambition into results.
