Cincinnati Bengals right tackle Amarius Mims is playing like arguably the best right tackle in the NFL right now. In a season where he’s faced Ruben Bain Jr., Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter and T.J. Watt, Mims has been stonewalling some of the best players in the league.
One part of his game that needs some work is his footwear. In Week 2, he exited the game after one of his cleats essentially busted at the seems and he had to get a new pair. The same happened in Week 5 in Miami, leading Mims to ask for help.
> “Mims is rightfully fed up with the situation. When he explained what happened to reporters after the game, he called on shoe manufacturers to step up and find him a solution.”
After losing a linebacker and special teams contributor, the Bengals quickly acted and acquired a replacement that Al Golden is very familiar with.
> “The Bengals go into the bye with a 3-2 record and one game behind the Ravens in the AFC North. The teams have their first meeting of the season in Baltimore on Oct. 25.”
> “Nobody expects a fourth- or sixth-rounder to turn into an All-Pro overnight. The Bengals are playing the long game with Lew and Parker, and that makes a lot of sense. But until somebody else from this group actually gets on the field and makes a play, this rookie class is riding on Howell’s back.”
> “For Perine, his quarterback’s evaluation highlighted the trust behind those opportunities. When Cincinnati needed to finish a lengthy drive, Burrow turned to a classic target.”
