Enzo Maresca
Enzo Maresca has urged Manchester City supporters to recreate the atmosphere they produced at Anfield when Paris Saint-Germain visit in the Champions League.
City head into the game following an impressive 3-0 win at Liverpool, with Maresca praising the travelling support for backing his side amid the current situation, with the club having been found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules.
Manchester City continue to deny any wrongdoing and are appealing the verdict.
“Anfield was unbelievable, because even if the environment was the environment we know, since the beginning our fans were there,” Maresca said.
“They brought their passion, their voice, and hopefully they can do the same tomorrow night because we need that.
“I was here the treble season and I know Champions League nights are special, and hopefully tomorrow can be special too.”

Maresca again insisted his players must focus only on matters they can control as City continue to deal with the fallout surrounding the club.
“We won 3-0 at Anfield, what do you want us to do? Even if it was 1-0, it would be exactly the same,” he said.
“I’m here today and the players are here today to win tomorrow’s game, and we work every day to win games. It’s the only thing we can be focused on.
“The rest are just things from outside that we need to deal with, but we were so, so, so happy on the pitch and inside the changing room.
“I’m completely calm, relaxed,” he added.
“I promise you I stress a lot about game plans and how we train every day but I don’t stress about things I don’t control.
“We know how serious the situation is but at the same time, it’s not something we can do something about.
“Where we can do things is on the pitch. So that’s why I like to focus there.
“I said after the Liverpool game, the noise around the team is a big noise but we need to try to deal with that and make our noise, that is to win games.”
The City boss also acknowledged the situation may have been more difficult for supporters than for himself or his players.
“It’s probably been more tough for the fans than for the players or me because it’s more complicated,” Maresca said.
“If I am a United fan or Arsenal fan and you are a City fan, I can tell you, ‘My friend, you cheat’, and these kind of things.
“Probably it’s been more tough for them but we were happy at the end of the game.
“We know how difficult Anfield away is so that’s why we were very happy.”
