Josh Allen is one hell of a football player. The Buffalo Bills quarterback is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league and one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. His ability to destroy you both in the passing game and in the run game makes him a truly dangerous quarterback for defenses to face. However, Allen's play style also draws a lot of criticism, particularly due to his physicality.
After yet another dominant performance on the ground, Allen opened up about this physical style of running. The Bills star said that he much prefers to dish out the pain instead of another player laying a hit on him.
“Listen, it's danged if you do, danged if you don't,” Allen told Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter after the game. “You see a lot of guys pull up, and I'd rather not put my body on the line for someone else to take a shot. I'd rather go deliver the shot. So obviously, if there's a big guy in front of me, I'd probably be getting down. But sometimes, these smaller DBs and linebackers, let's go find a way to get a couple more yards.”
Allen had a monstrous game on the ground for the Bills against the Los Angeles Rams. The star quarterback had 10 carries for 121 yards and one rushing touchdown, completely gashing Los Angeles' defense. Considering his receivers' struggles in the passing attack, Allen took on a bigger workload as one of the team's lead runners.
Allen still got his chunk plays in the air, throwing for 210 yards on just 19 attempts with one touchdown. Still, the game came down to the Bills' prowess in the run game, with Allen taking off on a bunch of runs to keep their drives alive.
With that win, the Bills improve to 4-1 on the season. They will take on the Las Vegas Raiders next week before their upcoming bye week.
