The Dallas Cowboys are struggling on the field and sitting at 2-3 following an inexplicable loss at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and backup quarterback Jalon Daniels on Thursday night.
Following the loss, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones didn’t mince words, calling his team’s showing “extraordinarily, extraordinarily disappointing” after the game. “\[We\] really do need to get it done when it’s there to take.”
Jones touched on being surprised by Tampa’s physicality.
“They basically were very physical. I thought both their fronts — I was really surprised how they ran the ball, how they ran it between the tackles. That was surprising. We thought if they were going to run it, they’d do it outside.”
As he looks to get his franchise back on track and into the playoff picture, Jones is still making sure to support the causes that matter to him. Jones appeared at the Little Rock Touchdown Club on Monday, and David Bazzel revealed that the Jones family had given a $10 million gift to the Clinton Foundation as Jones sat on stage alongside Bazzel and former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

“It’s wonderful to be able to make this contribution to, if you will — in ball, you talk about, you get past the first quarter, second quarter, then when the third quarter and fourth quarter comes, you’ve got to refresh up and get going and get another punch so you can finish the game,” Jones said of the donation.

We want to give that money today to lead the way and hopefully others will follow.”

Clinton profusely expressed his appreciation for the support from Jones.
“I’m grateful that it is now my responsibility to hand along all these things we’re doing on to the next generation in good shape, and make room for further growth,” Clinton said. “But I couldn’t do it without help and I am more grateful than you know. You’re a good man.”
