How Man City beat Liverpool after guilty verdict
Man City welcome PSG to the Etihad Stadium for what will be their first home match since an independent commission found the club guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations over a nine-season period between 2009/10 and 2017/18.
Although Maresca’s pre-match press conference was, once again, dominated by questions about the charges and the 3-0 win over Liverpool at the weekend, Man City are not believed to have any injury concerns.
However, it’s unlikely the attacking midfielder will be handed an immediate recall as Rayan Cherki has cemented his place in the No10 role.
Jeremy Doku, though, could make his first start since August after making a telling contribution as a substitute at Anfield. The Belgian helped set up Erling Haaland’s goal, scored himself and was the player fouled by Ryan Gravenberch which led to the red card.
One of Antoine Semenyo and Iliman Ndiaye is at risk of making way for Doku, while Josko Gvardiol for Nico O’Reilly could be the change in defence as the England international did struggle up against Victor Munoz.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to face his former club for the first time since leaving the Parc des Princes and Haaland will lead the line as he bids to score for a seventh successive Man City game.
Predicted Man City XI: Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, Gvardiol; Anderson, Fernandez; Semenyo, Cherki, Doku; Haaland
