Mikel Arteta has called for a shift in mentality from Bukayo Saka, but is it time for Arsenal to start thinking beyond their Starboy?
The Gunners spent the summer trying to upgrade the left-hand side of their front three. Out went Leandro Trossard and in came Christos Tzolis. Out went Gabriel Martinelli, but attempts for Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior failed. In the final days of the window, focus even shifted centrally as Julian Alvarez was targeted, also to no avail. At no point did improving the right flank come into consideration.
But could that be about to change? Arteta has hinted at needing more from Saka, the club’s highest earner and face of this project, while a big-name replacement has been linked in a surprise move.
