How Liverpool could line-up without Isak, Szoboszlai and Gakpo vs LASK

Liverpool will be without Alexander Isak, Dominic Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League game against LASK.

The trio were left out of the 23-man squad for the encounter. They also missed Sunday’s 3-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City at Anfield after picking up injuries during the international break.

Long-term absentees Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are also sidelined.

How Liverpool could line up against LASK

Alisson Becker is expected to remain in goal, while Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet and Virgil van Dijk should keep their places in front of the Brazilian goalkeeper.

Kostas Tsimikas could replace Milos Kerkez at left-back. The Hungarian has been poor this season.

Ryan Gravenberch is likely to start consecutive games for the first time this season as he is suspended for Saturday’s Premier League clash at Brentford.

Alexis Mac Allister is poised to partner Gravenberch in central midfield, with Florian Wirtz playing as the number ten despite calls to drop him.

Bradley Barcola is also likely to start, but teenager Rio Ngumoha could replace Victor Munoz. Lewis Koumas should lead the line again in Isak’s absence.

Manager Andoni Iraola will be looking for a strong response from his side after Sunday’s defeat to the Cityzens.

A victory over LASK would mean they had won their opening two matches in Europe’s premier club competition for the fifth time in the last seven campaigns.
