Sunday Night Football: 5 Bold Predictions for Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers

The Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers squared off on Sunday Night Football in 2025 and provided an all-time classic that ended in a 40-40 tie with more than 900 total yards of offense produced. As we look ahead to Week 6, there’s a chance we get similar fireworks for Sunday night’s matchup at Lambeau Field.

Let’s dive into our predictions for the Cowboys vs Packers on Sunday Night Football.

Christian Watson, Matthew Golden Combine for 180+ Receiving Yards, 2 Touchdowns

Entering Week 6, Dallas has allowed the third-highest yards per attempt (8.3) and completion rate (72.1 percent) in the NFL. That’s music to the ears of Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Coming off a career-best performance at Lambeau Field against Chicago, you can safely guarantee that Love will look to exploit cornerback DaRon Bland (126.2 passer rating allowed) and test Joey Porter Jr. if he suits up. We’ve seen far too many coverage busts and miscommunications in the Cowboys’ secondary this season to believe that it won’t continue on Sunday Night Football. While Christian Watson and Matthew Golden might not replicate what they did versus Chicago, they’ll come close.

Javonte Williams Rushes for 90+ Yards and a Touchdown

In 2025 against Green Bay, Cowboys running back Javonte Williams turned 20 carries into 85 rushing yards and a touchdown. Brian Schottenheimer should make that type of workload a priority for his bell-cow running back in Week 6. Through five games, Green Bay has allowed the 10th-highest Rush Success rate (42 percent) to opponents, and it could get even worse now with defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (Achilles) lost for the season. As long as Dallas feeds Williams 18-22 times, we think he’ll deliver 90-plus rushing yards and find the end zone at least once.

MarShawn Lloyd Sets a Career-High in Rushing Yards

It would be a massive understatement to say that the Packers have struggled running the football in 2026. Heading into Week 6, Green Bay has never rushed for 90-plus yards as a team once this season, and the last two games (86 and 70) are the only instances where they have hit 70-plus yards. That’s certainly a credit to the remade offensive line, and it also bears mentioning that MarShawn Lloyd seems to be establishing himself as the Packers’ clear early-down running back. On Sunday Night Football, he faces a defense that has allowed the fourth-highest yards per carry (5.1), the sixth-highest Rush Success rate (43.2 percent), and the most rushing yards per game (168.4). Lloyd isn’t explosive by any means and he lacks great vision, but the 220-pound back does run with power and can at least take what’s available. For the first time in his career, he’ll eclipse 50-plus rushing yards.

Dallas Cowboys Offense Scores 4 Red-Zone Touchdowns

Green Bay isn’t good defensively by any means this season, but this unit also generates far more stops than Dallas. However, there has been one major issue with this Packers defense in 2026. While it has only allowed the 17th-most trips to the red zone (16) this season, its opponents have scored 13 touchdowns on those drives. That 81.3 percent red-zone touchdown rate is the second-worst in the NFL. With Williams, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson, Dallas has more than enough firepower to take advantage of the Packers’ red-zone woes. We think the Cowboys get inside the 20 on four different drives this coming Sunday and they’ll score a touchdown on each of them.

Jordan Love, Dak Prescott Combine for 600+ Yards, 6 TDs

With Green Bay predominantly a pass-heavy team now, Jordan Love is going to put up great numbers as long as he has adequate pass protection. On the other side, Prescott will get to take full advantage of the fact that CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens will be covered by cornerbacks Keisean Nixon and rookie Brandon Cisse (153.3 passer rating allowed). It’s not like either of these defenses is particularly adept at generating pressure, either. Love and Prescott should both finish Sunday Night Football with 30-plus pass attempts, and with the big plays we’re going to see through the air, 600-plus passing yards and six touchdowns between the two of them is doable.
