Bournemouth are ‘open’ to selling Alex Scott in January, with Premier League rivals now circling. The former Bristol City midfielder was linked with a move away from the South Coast in the summer after rejecting two new contract offers.
But the Cherries remained firm in their intent to keep Scott at the Vitality Stadium despite an attempt from Chelsea. It appears that a fresh switch could now be on the cards.
According to BBC Sport, Bournemouth are now open to selling Scott if an offer in the region of £100m is lodged for his services. Chelsea remain interested, while Liverpool are keeping an eye on developments.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham were all thought to be interested in the summer but have shifted their focus elsewhere. Liverpool could be among the frontrunners for Scott’s services given the presence of former boss Andoni Iraola at Anfield.

But there remains one potential stumbling block in any potential deal and that is Bournemouth’s place in the Premier League. It is suggested that if the Cherries are struggling towards the end of the table then they may look to keep Scott to ensure their survival and then re-evaluate their position in the summer.
Scott, 23, joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 and he has gone on to score seven goals in 95 appearances in all competitions. He is currently sidelined with a thigh injury he picked up on international duty with England.
“It's an injury from a muscle, and we'll do pictures [scans] in some days again,” boss Marco Rose said at the time.
“But we're going to miss him, for sure, for four or five weeks. I'm very disappointed and it's a big loss. We miss a very important player, but I don't want to blame anyone.

“We are very happy that he made his debut for the English national team. He did well and we just hope that he is getting fit again quite soon.”
Scott’s current deal with Bournemouth is set to run until the summer of 2028. Should he leave, he would become the latest high-profile player to depart Bournemouth over recent seasons.
Antoine Semenyo, Ilya Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Dango Outarra all chose to depart last season, while Dominic Solanke left for Spurs 12 months before. That has seen Bournemouth turn a huge profit when it comes to transfers over the past few seasons.
