Bournemouth want more than £100million for midfielder Alex Scott if they are to sell the England international in January 2027.
Chelsea remain firmly interested in the midfielder after having three bids rejected during the summer, with the highest reportedly worth £68million.
Liverpool are also believed to be in a strong position to purse a deal for the 23-year-old, although his asking price could prove prohibitive.
Liverpool would have needed to sanction a significant sale to fund another major signing in August following the arrival of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
This was reportedly a factor behind Manchester City’s attempt to sign Cody Gakpo. The Reds retain an interest in Chelsea target Lamine Camara but are yet to finalise their transfer priorities under new sporting director Julian Ward.
Bournemouth believe Scott’s value is rising following his impressive performance for England against Croatia and recognise they could command a substantial fee in January rather than waiting until the summer.
Scott has been pushing to leave the Vitality Stadium since rejecting two contract offers at the end of last season. Chelsea have been encouraged to pursue their interest, although Bournemouth insisted he was not for sale during the recent international break.
However, following further discussions with his representatives, the Cherries are now understood to be willing to sanction his departure if an offer of around £100million arrives in January.
Bournemouth’s position in the Premier League table will also influence their decision, with the club potentially reluctant to sell if they are battling near the relegation zone.
Scott is expected to be sidelined for at least a month with a thigh injury sustained during England’s 7-0 Nations League victory over Croatia. He has two years remaining on his contract after joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023.
According to talkSPORT, Real Madrid have also scouted the midfielder. Jose Mourinho’s side signed Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva on a free transfer from Manchester City during the summer.
However, they missed out on Rodri, who joined their arch-rivals Barcelona from Manchester City. Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their midfield, but it remains to be seen whether they will make a move in the January transfer window or wait until the summer of 2027.
