Bournemouth are prepared to let England international Alex Scott leave in January, but only if their £100million valuation is met and the club are in a secure position in the Premier League.
Chelsea and Liverpool have been heavily linked with the midfielder, having expressed interest during the summer. Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola previously worked with Scott at Bournemouth, while Chelsea are reportedly looking for a replacement for Enzo Fernandez following his move to Manchester City.
Bournemouth were initially reluctant to part ways with Scott after his impressive Premier League campaign last season. The 23-year-old has since earned a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, winning his first two caps during the recent international break.
The former Bristol City ace appears keen to move on after rejecting offers of a new contract earlier this year. Following another round of talks between Bournemouth’s hierarchy and Scott’s representatives, the club are now open to a January departure, provided their asking price is met and their league position allows it.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool would be in a strong position to pursue a deal, with Iraola maintaining close relationships with both Scott and senior figures at his former club.
Scott is under contract at Bournemouth until 2028, having signed the same deal when he joined from Bristol City in 2023. As his contract runs down, the Cherries could face increasing pressure to sell as 2027 progresses.
The midfielder picked up a quad injury while on England duty and is expected to be sidelined for around a month. Liverpool have other options on their radar if a move for Scott fails to materialise.
AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara is one alternative after a deadline-day move to Chelsea fell through. Liverpool reportedly asked Camara to wait over a potential transfer, suggesting they could return for him next summer.
However, the Reds are understood not to have directly interfered in negotiations between Chelsea and Monaco. Manu Kone is another potential target for Liverpool, having seen a proposed move to Chelsea blocked by AS Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
