A group of Arsenal fans were forced to watch part of the Champions League game against Lille from the floor of the stands, after their seats appeared to collapse. The Gunners were in action at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Videos shared online show fans sitting on the floor during the game while members of Arsenal’s maintenance team work to fix the seats. Despite the situation, the supporters seem in good spirits, laughing and joining in with chants.

After a frustrating first half, in which Arsenal were restricted by Lille, the second period saw the Gunners score three times to emerge comfortable winners. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring in the 64th minute, with Eberechi Eze doubling the lead just three minutes later.

Bukayo Saka completed the scoring in the 71st minute. The win put them in third place in the league phase, only behind Barcelona on goal difference and Sporting CP on goals scored.

Responding to the performance, Mikel Arteta said: " We had moments in the game in the first half, especially in certain moments that we arrived to very dangerous positions.

"With a lot of advantage, our technical quality wasn't good enough to deliver moments of real threat and especially to be able to sustain the attack, so we allowed certain transitions.

"The moment we made a change at half-time in terms of certain positions, the technical level increased and we attacked the spaces where we thought we could help them. It was a joy to watch.

"The three goals were unbelievable, the connections, the timings, the quality they delivered to score. Three different players and a lot of players participating in those goals, so overall very, very happy."

Arsenal are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the Premier League. They are then back in Champions League action on Wednesday night when they take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The game will see key Bayern man Michael Olise serve a suspension after he was sent off for throwing a ball at an opponent during the team’s 3-3 draw with Viking.

Responding to the boost, Arteta simply said: "Yeah, I think the beautiful challenge is going to be against Forest away and we need to make sure we are ready for that one."
