Jayson Tatum had a simple message for Payton Pritchard.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Pritchard had agreed to a two-year, $44.2 million contract extension with the Boston Celtics.

Shortly after the news broke, Pritchard posted a photo of himself on Instagram with the caption, "Imagine if I listened to the people who said I couldn’t. Year 7."

Tatum was quick to comment.

"Bag💰💰💰," Tatum wrote.

Several other NBA players congratulated Pritchard in the comments, including Tristan Thompson, Mitchell Robinson, Dejounte Murray and Fred VanVleet. Paul George, Chris Paul, Bam Adebayo and Devin Booker were among those who liked the post.

Pritchard is coming off the best stretch of his NBA career. He won Sixth Man of the Year in 2024-25 before averaging career-highs of 17.0 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds over 79 games, including 50 starts, last season.

Pritchard is now under contract with the Celtics through 2028-29. His new extension includes a $22.9 million mutual option for the 2029-30 season, which could push his career earnings to $84.7 million.

It's another milestone for Pritchard, who has continued to exceed expectations since being selected with the No. 26 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
