Trent Alexander-Arnold's difficulties at Real Madrid could take another twist, as a right-back transfer could see the star face an exit possibility

Liverpool could be handed a clear run to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in the next year, with the right-back facing another potential challenge at Real Madrid.
It follows a difficult start to the season for the defender, who has been in and out of the team under Jose Mourinho so far, following the summer signing of Denzel Dumfries and the added competition in his position.
Having failed to convince so far, there remains uncertainty over the long-term future of Alexander-Arnold, who would have pictured his career with Los Blancos panning out very differently from the reality. While there is still time to win over the returning head coach, those chances may appear even slimmer if his team is to enter the market for another right-back in the weeks and months ahead.
With that in mind, Spanish outlet Cadena SER reports that Pedro Porro has emerged as a target for Real Madrid for a future transfer window, with the right-back viewed as a possible arrival in a competition between Los Blancos and their biggest rival, Barcelona.
It comes as part of an ongoing battle between the two La Liga clubs, after Real Madrid target Rodri switched to the Camp Nou rather than the Bernabeu in the summer.
The report states on the interest in Porro: "If Real Madrid comes calling, knowing that Trent Alexander-Arnold isn't convincing at full-back, there might be an option."
That in itself paints a picture that shows where Alexander-Arnold could be in the club's standings, with another right-back addition that would essentially push him to the fringes of the team moving forward.
Trent Alexander-Arnold looks on

It remains to be seen whether that is a possibility, with Porro only recently signing a new contract with Tottenham, which may throw any move into doubt.
However, if that were to materialize, then it would perhaps move Alexander-Arnold even closer to leaving the club, which could give Liverpool the chance to seal a return in the near future.
The Reds have struggled at right-back ever since the academy graduate's departure last summer, with Jeremie Frimpong unable to secure the position for himself, while Conor Bradley has spent a long time out of action due to injury.
While Ronald Araujo has filled in there for the time being, there may be a long-term plan to look at the right-back position come the summer.
And the chance to bring Alexander-Arnold back could be a potentially convenient solution for the player and the two clubs involved.
It remains to be seen whether that possibility will unfold, but it appears more likely the closer that Alexander-Arnold appears to be on the fringes at Real Madrid.
